What song is he playing?
Hi Forumites!
I certainly know this song, but I just can't remember which one it is. Can you tell me? I'd like to be able to play it, but would need the name in order to start searching for notes/tab. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=i6aGXEdD7KA Unrelated side note: This guitar sounds gorgeous! Cheers!

Thank you Walter - you were spot on - I'll see if I can decipher what he is playing or find another version online. The ones on youtube are almost all capo'ed - not that there is anything wrong with that, I just liked the sound of open string tuning.
Cheers, Simon

He's playing in A.
Chord sequence in that key: |Amaj7 - A7 - |F#m - C#aug/E# - |F#m/E - B7/D# - |E7sus4 - A - | |Amaj7 - A7 - |F#m - C#aug/E# - |F#m/E - B7/D# - |Dmaj7 - A/C# - | |F#m - B7 - |E7sus4 - A - | bridge: |F#m - - - |B13 - - - |E - - - |E7 - - - | |F#m - - - |B13 - - - |E - E/D - |E/C# - E/B - | For a male vocal, that might be either too high (unless you're a high tenor) or too low (unless you're a bass), so you'll either need a capo - or transpose the key!

Jon! Thank you very much, that is very helpful.
Can I ask: When you say C#aug/E# - does that mean that he plays either C#aug or E#?? (yes, not chord literate in that sense)

The slash notation "/" means play a C#aug chord with an E# note in the bass.
(And in case you don't realize it, E# is equivalent to F.) |

Quote:
I'm being a little pedantic with the chord name (thinking of it as V of F#m), because you can see the notes as just F-A-C# if you want, which is same as Faug, or Aaug. It's only like a passing chord between the previous F#m and the followng F#m/E. IOW, all three chords are really F#m, but there is a distinctive descending bass, F#-F-E, ending up on the D# of the B7 chord (which is almost like F#m/D#).

Thank you very much Jon - I very much appreciate the willingness of the AGF community to share knowledge and information. It is truly empowering.
Now onto the chords you provided, will learn this song in the coming weekend hopefully.
