Default I love my Taylor 210E!

Ok guys, I have this 210E that just seems to play itself. I love the tone, playability and quality of build it has.
I have a DN3 and this 210E is much easier to play than the DN3 and that's saying something. I would put it on par with my j-45 as far as playability goes.
I guess sometimes you can find a great guitar even if its a low end 200series Taylor. Has anyone else had a low end guitar that you felt was head and shoulders above the rest?

I only buy guitars under $1000. (So far)
I have an Alvarez that is set up so nicely that it almost plays itself.
And my Taylor 150e is sublime.

Yes, they only sell the 110e now, with electronics.
Mine is straight acoustic, with an ebony fretboard
and ebony bridge. It is my go-to guitar.

I have a 210ce and it's really good. Gets a lot of playing time.

Taylor 114 its a used '09 I just got, but not a mark on it, also no electronics. I looked all over the internet but no dealers have it, only the 114e. For me, its a dream.

I like the 200 series. Do you know why your 210 is easier to play than your DN3? Is it just a setup issue? There's no reason why your DN3 can't play the same as your 210 with the same gauge strings. Try putting a capo on the first fret of your DN3. Is it easier to play? If so, nut work should help.

I tried a cappo at the first fret and it didn't help. I may be splitting hairs as the DN3 does play well. The 210 just seems to be more "functional".
But then again, Maybe the DN3 could use some nut work. I know that with neck relief set the same on both guitars the 210e is much more forgiving to play.

I agree, something is off with the setup on the DN3.

Doesn't the DN have a 1.75" nut versus the 1 & 11/16 of the 210?

Perhaps the OP just favors the narrower nut width.

Just a thought......

My thought, too. The DN3 is no slouch, if it doesn't play well something's not right.

Congratulations.

I have a Taylor 210ce FLTD (2013) and it is a remarkable guitar.

I am a big believer in 200 Series Taylors.
