I just requested a set, too. Since it's Halloween, I'm wondering if they are going to come to our houses and use these new strings as garrotes.

No place on the form to say what gauge you want. Wonder what I'll get, besides spam?

I'm not real comfortable with this website. Be interesting if you see some strings. Please follow up when you have gotten some.

What are your worried is going to happen? If you haven't set up an email specifically for things like this, you definitely should. As far as the rest of the info, that's already out there. But, you can use an alt name and birthday if it makes you more comfortable.

I would feel more comfortable if the business providing the strings would provide information on themselves - name, address, etc. I could not find a link to who is doing this.

My guess is that this is some sort of marketing project by D'Addario for [unknown] coated strings, and not a scam.

I took a chance, after all what's one more piece of junk mail if it doesn't work out?

It'll be refreshing to get junk mail that isn't from a politician!

There is not much risk here, except for junk mail. Just use common sense like anything else. The web is THE commerce medium now, so like others suggested set yourself up for conducting biz on the web and be careful with the important stuff (IDs, account info and don't download anything of suspect origin).

I pass. The birth date request was a red flag for me. I get spammed enough already. Besides, I've got plenty of strings.
