About 2 months. I even took my saddle out last night and sanded it down a little. My elixirs still sounded good so I decided not to change them just yet.

Usually 4 weeks. Except when I forget. The last time I changed strings on my santa cruz was 2012.

I too have Elixir Nanos on my 3 Collings and they are going on 3+ mos old each with no tonal degradation.
The Martin OM-15 wears Lifespan PBs (2 mos old), while the Gibson has EJ-16s (3 wks). All sound fine so far.

I put new strings on all my acoustics Thanksgiving weekend. I was planning on changing the again around Christmas but I haven't been playing as much due to work being crazy this time of year. I have DR Dragon Skins on my Alvarez and Martin and Martin Marquis strings in my Seagull.

Hey ljguitar!
Have you tried Elixir electric guitar strings? I switched both mine to the Elixirs after my experience with the strings on that T-5... now, my ES345 has them, too! So far, they are great... been on the 345 for over 2 years now, still play, look and intonate wonderfully! If Elixir made flatwound strings, I could probably string my ES-175 with those and never do it again in my lifetime! Ha! (I like the strings on that guitar to sound kind of dead and doink-y, gives me that 40s/50s jazz tone that I want...)

I have Elixir PBs on my 528e and 322, the guitars I play the most, and they're about six months old give or take. Still sound fine.

Hi jseth...
Of course - that's all I use on my electrics. I don't age Elixirs out, I wear them out. I'm a frequent bender, and that takes it's toll on strings. |
