I've got a Yamaha LL6 enroute (or so I'm told) and would like to swap the gold tuners for some chrome Grovers that I've got. Is the screw on the back of the stock tuners centered or offset? The screw on the Grovers is centered underneath, and I'm hoping that the swap will be fairly trouble-free. I've also got a Colosi bone saddle that is itching for some action. Thanks...

Ok, I'm in now.
I originally ordered an LL16 but sent it back due to the body size but it sounded incredible.

Last week I received an LS16 and wasn't sure if I was going to keep it or not. So I went and played some Taylors and a few Martins, all in the $1k-$1300 range. I just can't justify spending that much extra so I have decided to keep the LS16.

I have a Colosi bone saddle and some Tusq bridge pins I'm going to install over the weekend.

To RP - I know my LL16 and LS16 had the tuner screw centered. I would assume the LL6 has the same tuners. Let me know how those fit because tuners are my next purchase.

I've had my LS16 for a little over a week now.

I just installed a Colosi bone saddle, Tusq bridge pins, lowered the action a tiny bit, rounded the fretboard edges, and strung it up with some EB aluminum strings. I'm going to remove the pickguard this weekend.

It feels and sounds fantastic. Easy to play, lively and resonant, great sustain. All in all I'm very pleased with it.

Now if only my playing was fantastic, I'd be happy.

My "new" Yamaha LL6 arrived, and I'm very pleased with the tone, looks, and overall playability of this guitar. I removed the pickguard and installed a tortoise color which I much prefer. The previous black one came off easily and left no gunk or shadow. Next to install are chrome Grovers and a Colosi bone saddle. Here's the pickguard BEFORE & AFTER:

The tortoise pick guard definitely looks better.

Thanks. I had gotten a bunch of them, and they match the Yamaha pickguards to a T although they weren't advertised as such...

Hey RP, where did you get the tortoise pick guard from, I'm in the uk but only seem to find black ones. Great look, I took mine off myLL16 but would like a new tortoise one.

Thanks my friend.

Can't remember. I bought a lot of 10 for about 10 bucks from some place in the Orient. If you were closer I'd be glad to send you one...

Any chance it was Thailand? I'd pick one up for my L20 if so.

Just put in an offer for a LJ6 ARE. Anyone have one of these? This has the passive pick-up and is sunburst finish. Let a LL6 go a while back and regretted it ever since. What would the main differences be between the LL, LJ and indeed the LS be apart from the size?

Bunny,
I don't have that one but the new passive pickups on the Yamahas is wonderful. I have an LL16R-12 A.R.E 12 string and I was amazed at how it sounded plugged in WITHOUT my LL Baggs Venue DI/Preamp. I'm going to consider not taking the DI to church with my for our Sunday Worship as it really does a wonderful job.

Second thought, maybe not.. I do like having my tuner down there... hmm maybe a tuner peddle is in order??
