Have you ever had GAS for an electric?
I have 3 acoustic electric guitars and sometimes kind of envy what the electric guys do on their guitars...shredding...think it's called. Anyhow, I have GAS for a Gibson Les Paul. I'd love to have one electric guitar at my disposal. Anyone else?

Yes, and a few months ago I bought a Godin CWII Kingpin, which is based on the Gibson 125, apparently. This is an excellent electric guitar for the acoustic player because it has the bulk of a jazzbox, the setup (12-52s from the factory) of an acoustic, but is capable of the full gamut of electric sounds. It's extremely good value, too.

Yes: telecasters. I love them. And yet, my last electric purchase wound up being a Gibson SG. Go figure.

I was gassing for an electric a while back, but I got over it.

Instead of one I have six -four 6 strings and two 7 strings. I just had to have them! A Les Paul is an excellent guitar for shredding (mine is a beat up 71' custom) and I also have a 82' Ibanez AR100 which I submit (IMO) is a much superior guitar to the LP in many ways.

I have more electric guitars than acoustic guitars but I'm over gassing for anything electric...I have everything I need.
I used to gas over Les Pauls and have owned many. These days I much prefer the tones of my semi-hollow body Gibson ES-335 and Les Pauls just sound like a heavy plank of wood to me.

Yes....
The last few years I had gas for a Rickenbacker and a telecaster, and filled that itch. Don't play them out much but glad that I have them.

Yep. But those bases are covered these days as I continue to seek the acoustic of my dreams.

I have some great electrics, but my favorite by far for general playing is a pine esquire. Bought the "custom" body fully loaded with prime components for like $400, and the neck online for about $120 (fake Fender Custom Shop but really nice neck). Absolute Beast! Second fave is an old Parker Fly Deluxe. Best surf guitar I've ever played, and you'll have to trust me, I've played all the approved Fender, Yamaha, and Mosrite.

Oh heck yeah. I GAS'd for a candy cola strat for a while and picked one up about 3 months ago. She is beautiful. I certainly don't shred but I do like it that bends and other things are much easier and yes there are certainly things I do an play on it that I'd never try with the acoustic. Nothing like playing some hard blues on an electric with some smooth overdrive in the mix.

I'm on the hunt for an electric right now, in fact.
