Default Cherokee Lake (original)

Wrote this tune after I visited my old man last fall in Bean Station, TN...had a good time drinking bourbon, fishing, skipping stones and talking about life at the lake. He'll never admit to it, being an ex-Navy chief, but he fell out of his kayak and I had to drag him to shore, baha!

Hope you all enjoy. Played on my beloved McIlroy A-36c (Italian Alpine top, rosewood b/s)

Oh boy, Dustin, that was special! You can really execute on that fretboard. All I can say is, "watch out Don Ross"!....(and others!).
Exceptional..............

Wow!

That was just wonderful! What a terrific sounding piece -- beautifully written, beautifully played.

That was REALLY well done! Totally loved it!

I like the song and great playing !

There's a lot of Tommy Emmanuel in it also, you played a lot of his songs too?

Nice! I used to canoe camp on Cherokee Lake and now I live in Tidewater.

Will confess this tune is very derived from Tommy's playing and I borrowed the tuning from Don Ross' "Berkeley Springs" thank you for the kind words fellas! Bob you should stop by a gig sometime!

Very (very) nice, Dustin. I thoroughly enjoyed that! Great tune, lovely setting, and a beautiful guitar...who could ask for more?

Gorgeous, man!! Loved every bit. And that McIlroy sounds fantastic. Played a couple in Galway and had a hard time leaving without one... Really well done.

Thanks man! I really love that guitar, it has such a nice feel in my hands and loves a light-touch. Dermot McIlroy is a really down-to-earth fella, too..his guitars are my favorite out of Avalon, Lowden, McIlroy. Love the versatility!
