Default $old. PUTW #54 Pickup System with Mi-Si battery free Preamp

You may have read my long thread about looking for my unicorn pickup. If so, you can listen to the pickup sample recordings. This pickup is phenomenal in its ability to reproduce a microphone like tone. And, keep in mind that this pickup sounds and behaves exactly like a mic. So, there are positives and negatives associated with that.

Unfortunately, the individual bridge-plate elements are slightly too long for my bridge-plate and cannot be cut down.

I paid $280 for the system last month. I will install new double sided tape on the elements and include the instructions, presides volume/tone control, and Mi-Si charger. The target buyer for this pickup is someone who places fidelity over all other considerations when choosing a pickup or internal mic. Or, someone who wants the lightest mass, lowest impact, completely removable solution.

Peace!

When you say behaves like a mic, I assume it might feed back a bit in a band situation. Is that the case?

Yes for sure. This is not the best pickup for a high volume band application.

Hi, so do you know the dimensions of the pickup and do they sit simply next to each other on the bridge plate or angled?

Just curious cause you said your bridge plate was a little short.
Thanks

Good question. I will take measurements and post them. I’ll also take a picture.

The standard install for each element of a PUTW #54 is near the edge of the bridge plate (where it angles) and next to the X-braces.
