Turns out my dog training room has great acoustics
I've been horsing around with home audio/video recording with my Apollo Duo and its been frustrating a bit with eq, mic placement, etc.. Always seems to be too much this or not enough this, in terms of overall balance and clarity.
Then I decided to take our Rode video mic into our dog training room and record a piece I'm playing for a recital next month. I'm pretty fond of the natural sound of the room, and I think the Rode does a nice job. I'm curious as to what you guys think overall? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZZM...&feature=share I admit it was pretty darn easy. And that is always nice. Thanks for taking the time! Mark |

I am curious though as to the mic placement. The camera is a fair distance away. The acoustics in the room must be indeed nice for the mic to pick up the sound so fully. Or maybe the Rode is especially good that way? In any case, good job and nice playing. Good luck in your recital.

Thanks so much Andre!
I too, thought the overall sound was natural and more or less true. The mic was mounted on top of the camera situated about 6 feet from where I was sitting. I think the room sounds good, but some of it could be the mic too.. Again, thanks so much for your thoughts! Mark |
