I was excited to try the EJ-18 set but like I said on the other thread, they didn't have enough tension and the Bass E string was sloppy and buzzed so I didn't even try the rest of the set.

I will have the brass pins in a few days and will report back with the findings.

If it turns out that you don't like a full set, you may find that a partial set gives a tone that you like. The Martin "Martin Carthy" comes with a partial set, and I found that it worked on my kona.
