How about a nice watch to help you keep track of your practice time. Say an ORIS Chronograph of one version or another. Couple of examples:

I have this one: http://www.oris.ch/en/watches/oris-a...4-07-5-22-82fc

Or, perhaps one from the Big Crown line - http://www.oris.ch/en/watches/oris-b...4-07-5-22-15fc

I have this BC watch - http://www.oris.ch/en/watches/oris-b...164-07-8-22-19

Don't you need one of those nice Furch baritones like someone showed off on here today?

Are you kidding? For that kind of money I would ask for another guitar, whether I want one or not. Honestly, I used to have an Omega Seamaster Professional and I really was not impressed with high end watches. I wear an Orient now that keeps better time than the $2000 Omega did.

I am not trying to be hard headed. My life is good and I am fulfilled. Choosing a gift that I would like is hard for me right now. I have my dream guitar, I have a decent audio system to listen to tunes, my computer does everything I want it to do, two tablets, etc. I don't like sports to play or to watch. I don't collect anything. My 60" TV is plenty big enough and I can stream any movie or music I want so she doesn't have to buy anything like that. I have a gift card that I have been holding on for months because I can't think of anything I would want to buy with it.

A couple of months ago my wife said that I could buy my dream guitar when it came up for sale at a great price. I would be happy to consider that my Christmas present, but she won't hear of that.

I guess what I am saying is that I am happy with my life and the things that I have to go with it. I have a great wife, great kids, great grand kids, a decent place to live, great health, and plenty of love. What more could I ask for.

Sorry to get all philosophical on you.

Wonderful attitude, and a wonderful wife. Maybe ask for some DVD lessons, or a slot at a music camp for next summer. There are several good camps not far from you (Kaufmann Kamps, Swannanoa, etc).

Muffinhead, you are a blessed man. Whatever you decide, you've already won. Happy holidays!

A nice bluetooth speaker so you can listen to Pandora and jam along.

Help!
How about a Bluechip pick? Maybe a Tor-Tis brand pickguard.

My wife and I give each other lists and have for years. But last night as we were discussing this I ask her "when will this end? Look around here, what could either of us possibly want that we don't have, or we couldn't go get, within reason"

When you reach that point, it's time for soul searching. Just my 2 cents.

+1 on a portable recorder, Zoom or Tascam so you can listen to yourself playing. They are quite cheap.

Have you mastered the F chord yet?

I don't know what any of that is except I think the Strat means Stratocaster. Probably a good suggestion, but I don't play electric. Haven't had an electric in 40 years.

Thanks.
