I would recommend a cheap used guitar off of craigslist. If you have to buy new then go to guitar center and pickup whatever yamaha they have for ~100 bucks. Epiphone makes some okish guitars for around 100 also. What matters most is a decent setup and to get some calluses on your fingers. Its going to sting your fingertips at first, but it goes away. Don't spend too much until you figure out what you like.

Thats a decent deal. It woulda been 200 new. See if you can knock them down to 75 because of the scratch in the top. Solid top guitars like the one in the listing sound better but they're more likely to break.

edit: heres the list I searched from

tuner apps are free on your iphone. every lesson you could possibly want is free on youtube. just pick a guitar and dive in.

Whatever guitar you get, make sure you set some money aside to have a good setup done if it needs it. Basically, that means that the strings aren't too high off the fretboard so it is easier to press the strings down. Strings that are too high and hard to press down may be the number 1 reason people give up on guitar: it hurts too much.

i had a guitar about 7 years ago when i was 10 and it wouldnt even stay in tune for more than 3 chords. i remember the brand name was sky or something like that. i barely learned anything at all, and now im getting more motivated to try again i just want to start properly. quality more than quantity yanno?

btw, the Yamaha and the Seagull above are both great deals, and the two most commonly recommended inexpensive brand guitars on this forum, for good reason. The Seagull says it has been set up, but who knows? Is there someone you can take with you who knows guitars while you are looking?

As pgilmor had highlighted, make sure you get a setup. It will make the guitar easier to play. I've seen too many beginners undercut themselves in this department...don't

easier to play = less bad habits forming + better time/experience playing which translates into being a better musicians over time
