Well, I'm nowhere close to being a Luthier, may never get there, but since I'm building my first guitar I'll toss in a somewhat whimsical project. I needed a place to park my iPhones on my desk, so I came up with this -

The table is spectacular, but you sketch is even better. Really so very life like!!! I wish I had half of that artistic ability!

Hi all
Here is a link to a photo album of work that was done in my cabinet and furniture shop. It includes a few shots of a guitar I built . If your interested I posted more about my guitar in the 'Build and repair" section under "I built this guitar in 2013"

Those are super cool. If I weren't in the process of buying a house, I'd probably be begging you to take my money.

Indeed I started at 18 and build nothing...did a few dulcimers in my day. Nice to know I still have some being played 35 years later.

Smile What else do you make?

I just love this thread. The quality of other items, especially the furniture, that the luthiers on this forum make is just outstanding.

I had forgotten about this video of a custom pool table I had the priveledge to do for a client a while back for a game room. It is Pecky Cypress and has a Sinker Cypress dining table top that sits on top for dining at, a table tennis top also and moves up and down so the smaller kids can play at it. The dining table tops are stored under the pool table in a hidden pull out tray. Thought you folks would enjoy it. Hope the video works.

The first woodworking project I ever did was my timber frame house. We've lived in it for almost forty years.
Outside the birth of my children, our "barn raising" was the greatest day of my life.

I built this cool neck shaping jig and I've shared this before. So this is how I've carved my necks for about four years now. Non-cnc way to shape the neck profiles. Time saver for sure. (no, I don't have any plans for it).

That was your first project? Mercy, what was the second?
Most impressive.

For his second project, he made a door.

J/K, the talent on this thread is pretty intimidating.
