How My Archtop Sounds
I don't play like most guitar players. I record my guitar in larger
orchestrations I compose on synths. The guitar I record with most often is my Mr. Binh arch-top, usually plugged in with tremolo. My archtop-playing is minimalist, I slide around mostly on unvoiced chords. On flat-tops, I finger-pick or strum. I managed to finish a recording today (23 August 2014). It's the only music I've finished in a year. If anyone is curious how my archtop sounds. All of the guitar parts here are played on it. Composed and recorded in my bedroom on Auria, ioDock, Korg M3m, Kawai K1, Roland Sonic Cell, my big Vietnamese arch-top, Kent Armstrong mini- humbucker plugged into JoeMeek VC3 and Lexicon MPX110 (tremolo). Sequenced and early mix on Korg M3. Finished tracks in Auria. Probably less-than-optimum mix. I'm happy with the arch-top sound.

On the arch-top on that song, I'm using the same strings I use on my acoustics - except I use .10's.
