Default dusting off the old gear - considering lessons

Question for those who teach or possibly others like me;

I learned to play by ear many years ago and because I only ever dabble here and there as the mood struck, I'm nowhere where I should be considering the time passed. I recently picked up a CD by Suzie Vinnick (Acoustic blues) that I absolutely adore which has has caused a new desire to play again.

Because I have forgotten so much and don't have the proper background in the basics, scales or having the ability to read sheet music I'm wondering if its actually worth going for lessons. I do ok with video tutorials, but not with TAB. What I'm wondering is if guitar teachers will teach people like me without going all the way back to Mary had a little lamb.

Or is it worth my while, to actually start over and learn right from the start?

Talk to some teachers near you and see what they say. Someone should be willing to structure lessons to fill your needs.
