I hope you build with the cedar again if it works as a musical instrument also because it is stunning.

Congrats
Thank you so much Tom-san.
This guitar might be temporary exhibition in a museum but I'm not sure yet.
I controlled the stiffness, weight, thickness and the vibration of the back so this guitar actually sounds great.
2 of my dealers in Japan will make demo videos of this guitar.
I'll post them.
Please stay in tune!
Ryo

Thank you very much for your comment.
It took about 6 times longer than my standard models, haha.
But I'm pretty happy with how it turned out to be.

Wow...
Thank you so much for your kind words.
It's been only about 10 years since I started guitar making but I've spent all of my life... and I think I'm on the right track so far.
I hope you try my guitars someday...
Ryo

Default Sound Messe in OSAKA 2017

I had an amazing time at Sound Messe in OSAKA on April 15th and 16th with many of my colleagues whom I admire and respect.
This "Yanase Cedar Project" was one of the guitars I displayed.
And I’m so glad and honored that Jason Kostal introduced me on his Facebook!
I started my guitar making career in Japan under a local maker.
After having made 3 guitars I attended the class at Roberto-Venn school.
Jason was an instructor there at that time.
We had seen each other at guitar shows in Healdsburg and Montreal but I had been an apprenticeship under my great mentor, Sergei de Jonge, back then so finally I could see him at a guitar show as an exhibitor.

-I do not normally find myself to be speechless when looking at guitars, but today is definitely an exception. For those of you who don't know him, this is Ryosuke Kobayashi. Ryosuke is a former student of mine that also apprenticed with Kenji Sugita and Sergei DeJonge. He has been on his own for a few years now and the guitars I saw today made me stop and take notice. Of particular interest was a cedar OO. The top is bear claw spruce, and the back and sides are Japanese Yanase cedar with an Alaskan Yellow cedar neck. The part that blew me away was the craftsmanship and attention to detail. The fingerboard is made completely by hand by inflaying pieces of Yanase cedar into ebony with perfect spacing between the edge of the fingerboard and fret slots. It may sound easy, but I truly cannot comprehend the amount of time that went into doing this to the level he did. Add to it a chip carved rosette, carved multi-demensional headstock, French polished finish and this guitar is beauty redefined. Oh, and did I mention that is it under priced by about $5,000 based on where I think his work should be. If you are in the market for an amazing guitar at a price that I hope is soon to be obsolete, contact Ryosuke and commission a guitar through him. You will not be disappointed.
-Jason Kostal-

Thank you so much Jason for introducing me to the world!

Default Yanase Cedar Project

Blue-G in Tokyo and Guitar Pro Shop Mikigakki in Umeda ,my official dealers in Japan, took very nice photos.
I hope you guys enjoy them.
Yanase Cedar Project is build-to-order (this particular guitar is not for sale since it might be a temporary exhibit in a museum in Japan.)
I'm able to make two of it (one for Blue-G and one forMikigakki.)
Please ask Blue-G or Mikigakki if you get interested in the project.

Thank you very much for viewing.
