Favorite Reaper FX?
Just getting started with Reaper and the list of available FX is quite daunting. Do you have any you particularly like using with vocals / acoustic guitar?

Revenge - but duplicate to auxiliary channel apply effect there and fine tune with faders.
I like a tiny amount of digital delay -almost inaudible but adds thickness to the signal. Compressor - threshold to take about 5 to 8 db - ratio determined by listening to the track. You Tube - Recording Revolution has some great tutorials on compression/eq, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I probably use Reaper's multiband EQ more than anything else, especially as subtractive EQ.
The other thing that I use most often is reverb, but I've never been particularly excited about Reaper's offerings. I use Freeverb 2 and programmed the pre-sets to match what I like in other verbs that have a much higher CPU hit. The other thing I use is a Mastering plugs, but those are from Terry West. They used to be free, but now have a small fee. You can find a bit more out about those, as well as my commonly used pre-sets for Freeverb 2 on my old webpage. No photos any longer, but text is there at the internet archive site: http://web.archive.org/web/201603282...ecording1.html |

My vocal FX chain usually uses EQ, Compression, Delay, Reverb. Not necessarily in that order, and with varying parameters as needed/desired.

ReaEQ
ReaComp ReaVerb - note that you need to download some convolution files (room captures) for this to work correctly. There's info in the user manual on this. 99% of the time I use the Milan Scala Opera House for things, and sometimes a plate reverb for the lead vocal.

The only stock effect I use regularly is ReaComp. I like the NY preset.

I Don't use Reaper
But you will find that there are basically four that are the most consistently used plugins throughout the recording world : #1...EQ (preferably adjustable frequency selection multi band with adjustable Q) #2...Compressor ( with adjustable ratio and attack and release times ) #3...Reverb ( with adjustable pre delay) #4...Delay (with adjustable decay time) Beyound those basic consistent workhorses, it starts to get pretty subjective to personal tastes and goals

Sorry, just saw this. I shared mine with someone else here a while back, but deleted them from my Dropbox. I'll upload them and send you the link by PM.
