Rode NT55 mic - worth it for versatility?
It looks like the NT55 is a swiss army knife of a mic, compared to the NT5. With a swap of the capsules it converts from a cardioid pattern to omnidirectional, has 3 different attenuation settings, and 3 different cut off settings. It looks like on the 0dB attenuation and no cut off the sound is pretty crisp and clear on mic'ing acoustic guitars.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoZYpNad4lE It looks like it is the same mic as the NT5 - just with more options. Thoughts? |

Good mic but if you need a pair check out the Beyerdynamic 930. For recording guitar you don't really need those options.
