Exclamation Blue Kiwi Microphone Good Deal?

So I recently came across someone who is selling there Blue Kiwi Microphone for $875. The seller assures me that it works perfectly. These are normally $2000 retail and wonder why the price cut? Is this a good deal? I don't see any on ebay so I don't know how much they are running for used.

I have one of the less expensive versions (Blue), a nice microphone, but far less expense. I would proceed with caution and only offer to buy if I could return the mic if not satisfied. Good luck.

What is your planned use for it? Most people don't need $500+ mics unless they are doing some pretty exacting studio recording.

I'm planning on buying a Blue Bluebird. I have a 20% off coupon for Musiciansfriend on any one item that expires today. I was thinking of flipping the blue kiwi mic for a profit putting the extra money towards my budget recording setup. Just weighing the risk/reward...

You won't make much profit flipping it. It is a great mic on many sources.

I'd be wary of someone letting it go for that low unless they had a logical reason when you asked. Makes me wonder what's wrong with it...

Here's the cheapest one on eBay that I can see...used @ $1339 buy-it-now price:

I have no need for fine microphones, but if I did they'd say Neumann on them. Why? Because I don't know squat about mics, but I do know that Neumann makes good ones. Doubt I'd spend a bunch on any other brand.

The Kiwi is an excellent mic and if you were going to have only one studio mic it would be great. It's flattering on most sources. If you're going to sell it for profit it might take a while to sell but you could perhaps make a $150 to $200 on it. Two used Kiwi's recently sold for $1100 on ebay.
