Default Electric amp on a speaker stand?

I recently bought a Mustang II v2 and the thought about adding a pole mount to the amp. Any thoughts on the pros and cons of doing something like this. Also, where would you add the pole mount, the side, bottom or where?

A typical active PA speaker will have equalization controls for floor (monitor: less bass) or front-of-house (pole: more bass) placement. It might not sound like the same electric guitar amp off the floor.

sounds like a lot of work when you could just put the amp on top of a box to raise it off the floor. i like having my amp(s) raised so that less of the speaker's sound goes into the carpeting. seems to make it less muddy and aims it closer to my ears.

play music!

This would be a lot easier, faster and probably less expensive...

I have one of these. Especially handy in live situations like open jams where you've got a smaller amp (mine's a 14-watt tube amp) and they don't have enough inputs to the board to mic you. I guess too depends on how high above the floor you want your amp to be.

I have this amp stand: http://www.guitarcenter.com/On-Stage...10-i1276263.gc It's strong enough to hold a Twin Reverb amp.

It was my choice because you can adjust the angle of it - you can't do that with the other stands. Angle can be important because you are not always the same distance in front of your amp.

I like to put my closed back combo amp on a chair.
