I played a few Martin S1 mahogany ukes in the store and they had nice intonation, were lightweight, and sounded good. I might get one myself.

OK, I now get the soprano uke. The KoAloha I played yesterday was outstanding. Hard to play because of size? Yes, but I'd make the effort to play one. Sure would get you into complex strumming patterns. The KoAloha in satin finish is around $800. I don't think Pono makes a koa along the lines of my $350 mahogany tenor, but acacia is probably close.

But that KoAloha soprano was sweet! I could get so sucked into higher end ukes.
