Default So this is really gonna be a guitar

It was being finished before my eyes. It was so close. Without notice a box came in the mail. There aren't too many things that come in a box 4ft by 2 ft. It was a reenactment of the Christmas story. It was from French Canada and it did say Fragile on the side. I unwrapped it with excitement. The case was beautiful and inside revealed this work of art I thought. And then as I was tuning the strings I started to tap on the body like a bongo and I could hear this distinct difference from other guitars. Then holding and the first strum told the real story. This thing sings! It has mor bass than is to be expected out of this size guitar and the highs reach much further than others I have played. The soundhole was reveling what goes on in front of the guitar as well. But most of all holding it was very comfortable and fun! I'll have to put up some simple strums so you can hear it plain and in its fullness. Perhaps a one mic at the sound hole recording. Anyway,
Here it is

Beautiful guitar Nick. I wonder if that Michaud OO you saw on Craigslist is the same "prototype" guitar I owned a few years ago. That one had a wenge fretboard too.

I'm currently working with Joel on a OO commission (Engelmann/African Mahogany). He's a very creative individual and a joy to collaborate with. It's great to see him getting some visibility on the AGF!

Congratulations Nick, that's a lovely looking guitar... reminds me of Steve Sheriff's work a little, in terms of colour palette and some of the decorative aspects, but with a unique & beautiful identity all of its own!

Bring on the sound clips!

Jon

Don't you just hate it when a guitar shows up at your door step unannounced? That is an amazing build thread. You're making me so excited for mine!!! Should have some pictures up and running by next week

Hope you're enjoying your Michaud thoroughly. Definitely looking forward to the recording

If I'm not mistaken, Joel did take this particular rosette design from Steve (with his permission of course). I saw the resemblance too and asked him about it haha this is definitely one of my favourite builds of Joel's. Nick is one lucky fella!

Default Journey| Michaud Made

Looks awesome Nick, I'll be getting my own Michaud in about 1 year. At least it will make the summer feel like forever!

Congrats Nick.

Looks like an absolutely beautiful guitar. I can really appreciate the theme flowing throughout. That Cocobolo back is also outstanding.

What are all the inlays made out of on the rosette and such? it is very nice.

Welcome to the family!

Dan.
