Dadgad Jazz DVD released!
Friends,
I’m pleased to announce the release of my dvd, Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar in DADGAD. I was indeed fortune to perform and teach 5 classic jazz tunes in dadgad for Stefan Grossman’s Guitar Workshop. Tunes include Round Midnight, God Bless the Child, Take Five, All Blues and Blue Monk. It was a rewarding jazz journey in rarely traveled dadgad territory. I do hope you’ll join me! Please note that I played my much loved Martin OM-18V on the dvd. Thanks for listening! Sandy Shalk http://www.guitarvideos.com/styles-1...itar-in-dadgad |

I was waiting to comment so the "bump" would be meaningful...but honestly, Sandy's work here is quite wonderful and second to none in the guitar community.
This is the good-stuff, folks. Get the DVD, and then buy the whole album...!

Larry, thank you for your kind comments. They means so much to me Your dadgad playing is remarkable and has been an inspiration to me. Of course, there's no finer writer of original instrumentals than you! So, thanks!
It's a kick working out jazz tunes in Dadgad. The tuning really lends itself to that sort of thing. I trust folks will enjoy the dvd--particularly those that enjoy dadgad. There are a few of us! Whenever I play Take Five in dadgad somewhere I typically get a very positive "what the heck is that!" look It's a great tune to play. There's something about playing a top-40 hit in 5/4 Mr. Skye does a fab arrangement of course. I really enjoyed seeing you play in my part of the world a few years back! |
