Semi-Standard styles--
OM=orchestral model L=large-bodied, classical-style shape for steel strings (Larrivee's "proprietary" shape) P=parlor D=dread add a V and you have cutaway add a MT and you have a hog top add an "e" and you have some sort of electric pickup, brand differs based upon year built and model number. 03=satin finish, mahogany back/sides 03R=satin finish, rosewood back & sides 05=gloss body, hog back & sides 06=semi-traditional herringbone (maple binding)+ rosewood 09=gloss, rosewood b & s, better inlay, etc... 10 and other numbers are various degrees of more bling I think Larrivee makes some awesome guitars at a more than reasonable price. I love the bound fretboards, and ebony fretboard/bridge appointments even in their "low" 03 series. I also like the idea that they still use a traditional dovetail joint like the Martins. Their bracing is symmetrical which gives them (imo) a woody, balanced sound. Also easy for left-handers to re-string with no structural damage to the guitar. Someone more knowledgeable can add to this.

Actually, the 03R is a rosewood back and sides.

+1 on what's been said, but the satin 03 series comes in a variety of tonewoods:
No suffix = Sapele standard (formerly Honduran Mahogany) R = East Indian Rosewood W = Walnut K = Koa BW = Australian Blackwood FM = Flamed Maple SP = Sapele (which was a limited run of 100 L and OM models back when mahogany was the standard The 50 and 60 series also sometimes have burst finishes: SBT = Sunburst Top (which is found on the rosewood 60 series) TSB = Total Sunburst (which is found on the mahogany 50 series)

Yeah, I know that. Didn't write it. Oddly, that's one I own.
