Just picked up a '72 D-35 for $xxxx. It sounds like a good guitar next to my 2 Bourgeois. Not as good, but I'm not uptight about bringing it to bar gigs either.

I am going through this thought process now with a 73 D28 I have found. The helpful guys on the UMGF have said 70's Martin's are nothing special. I really like the neck profile and the wood selection. It needs a neck reset for sure... If it has the over sized bridge plate I want that gone too. I have not pulled the trigger yet as some have said the price is ok and some say too high. I like it but know it needs work.
