Smile Kinnaird SE Asian/Lutz DB OM/ IT'S DONE!!!! *** SOUND CLIPS ARE HERE****

Well forced by the evil rules, we reached the 300 post limit in chapter one, so let us start chapter two....

The finishing is curing and the parts are waiting to be assembled....updates as I receive them are sure to amaze and bedazzle all who care to look!!!

In the meantime, we wait for the paint to dry, tic toc, tic toc

Hey it's me again...Progress has been made.

Here is Ryan drilling the headstock for the tuners...apparently this will be a 7 stringer. The chrome pegs will be replaced with ebony pegs when finished:

Here is the neck being glued on.

And the bridge as well. I am glad we elected the Amazon Rosewood bridge, the colors seem to really work with the rosette and the purflings, at least in my opinion:

Going out on a limb here Tom, but I do predict you'll be glad for this choice. The bridge polished up beautifully, is a perfect color match as you pointed out, and just sings when tapped.
Can hardly wait to get strings on this baby!

Steve

Thanks Paul, I agree although two completely different looks. I really wanted the wood to do it on this one and I think it did. Of course, the fretboard inlays are not subtle hahaha, but look at that silking in that top!!!!

Thanks Paul! One can always hope, but we have the feeling this will be our last chance to impress Tom. (Until next year, of course.) We're going for shock and awe!

Thank you too, Marcus. Lutz is amazing material, and I'm glad we took this decision for top wood. And, oh--the sound!

Thanks again, guys!

Default Yowzah!

That top with the Amazon Rosewood is just spectacular!

And all the other appointments ain't too shabby either--really an amazing instrument.

Looking forward to hearing it sing--how long have you been playing a seven-string, Tom?!

This will be my first, but Ryan has assured me it is no problem to learn, and if I don't like it I can just use that spot for an extra string in case one breaks during a show!

Tom, just the lowly helper reporting here, but I believe you have a wonderful instrument coming your way. It is completely striking. I love just looking down at the top while I'm working on it. And the sound...I remember your first guitar had one of the most impressive brand new guitar sounds. Full and rich with the first note. This OM is following in its older sibling's footsteps. Beautiful from the beginning. Can't wait for it to play in a little.

So happy for you Tom! The silking in that top is ridiculous! (good that is) All the design elements have come together beautifully. That bridge is off the charts. And singing? Wow! If this guitar is sounding like a sibling to the SJ you have got to be ecstatic! Congrats to you and Steve and Ryan!

And BTW, there are no evil rules that force the 300 post limit. That would be the doggone software!
