Thanks everyone for the compliments!
I've always liked lives edges and was wondering how I could stabilize them. I put a chunk of cherry burl in wood hardener under vacuum. I put the stabilized wood plug into an hdpe mold and layered in the polymer resin with the first layer mixed with bone dust and then a translucent, dyed layer. The bone naturally diffused into the clear resin to make the misty valley effect. I then cured the resin under pressure to keep it bubble free.

Thanks for the explanation. It looks magical.

Thanks a lot! It's been a while since I posted any progress so here she is, waiting for her finish to cure before buffing. I used Royal Lac, a new finish for me, and it has some nice things going for it.

Thanks! I'm old enough to remember Arte Johnson saying that from the bushes!

While we're waiting for the paint to dry on this build I thought I'd post a picture of the bridge design. I tend to tweak my design a little bit on every build and this one is no exception.

I'm in the process of reconstructing some of my threads after the photobucket debacle. Here's the first.
