I certainly won't be laughing at you. I own only one guitar and after dozens, will never own another.

That type of satisfaction may be foreign to some but I get it. It's a joy!

I corrected your original post for clarity.

I think I'm done as well.

Except for a 12 fret.

And I would like a Koa (but maybe a koa 12 fret?).

I am partial to black walnut . . .
Agreed, mm1951. I am done except for a 12 fretter. A Collings DS1 German/koa or a walnut Gibson Jackson Browne SM would be fine by me!

Jim: you have a lot of bases covered with your two keepers.

Good on you. I currently have 2 with 1 on the way. I already feel guilty having a 3rd come in, but I'm promising myself it is the last for a while.

Congrats! You certainly have two great guitars as your final keepers.

I'm pretty much there as well. I've got my Santa Cruz 1929 00 for my wood guitar keeper and an Emerald X20 Custom on order which will fill the non-wood all-purpose, all-environment guitar needs when it arrives. The little Journey carbon fiber travel guitar may or may not stay.

Since going down to 'the one' I have found it very freeing to just be grabbing one guitar off the wall to play.

Probably true, but I'm trying to hold to it as of now.

True enough. Strange thing is, both of these guitars are on the second stay here. I sold the Martin about 9 years ago to a friend and immediately regretted it. I bugged him for a few years about selling it back and recently he contacted me and said he was ready to part with it. The Gibson was only gone for around 6 months when I traded the new owner out of it to bring it back home.

Obviously the OP is trying to constrain impulses that may or may not be constrainable. As one who has gone through a similar path of buying/selling guitars, I wonder what his rationale was for his pattern of behavior and what is his rationale for getting down to two guitars....

About the same here. The sales funded the only two that get any play around here anymore: New Hartford-built Guild jumbo F50R and Corona-built Guild JF30-12. Those two are pretty much guitar heaven for me.
