FWIW I am only 2 hours out of Philly.
And clearly worth the drive from Allentown, PA, where the prices are much higher. However, even these prices are the strongest sales pitch for a bolt-on neck I can think of, in particular for a guitar good enough to maintain but not in the multi thousand dollar price class.

My apologies for speaking too quickly. Not sure how I had it in my head SCGC did not work on guitars. Got a fast response from their head of marketing:

Hi Carolyn - A friend's 1991 SC D-style guitar has three top cracks and a bulging top. May also need a neck reset. Is this work SC will do, even if it needs a new top? - jim / americantoolbox

Sure is! Have them email me at service at santacruzguitar dot com. I can easily get them on the service schedule for the new year!

It is a typical Martin dovetail joint, so no surprises.

You should have that done by someone familiar with Martins. I'm sure there are good people in your area, but check out Pat DiBurro. He's an authorized Martin repair shop and has worked on a number of my guitars, including a neck reset and refresh on my 1893 Martin. A Martin neck reset starts around $400. Incredible work and a great guy.
