Default Jamming buddies

On many occasions I have mentioned how much I enjoy a good bluegrass jam. Today I ran across this video featuring some of the regulars that I jam with. The first bluegrass jam I ever attended was at the home of the bass player. I have played several shows with the mandolin player, and any time he is not on stage, he can be found at local jams ... in fact, he was at my gospel jam last night playing bass. The banjo player drives down from Arkansas, and is one of the best I have ever jammed with. I first met the guitar player when he was 12 or 13, but now he is a seasoned veteran at age 17 ... he has finished 2nd the last two years in the Texas flatpicking championship, and finished 4th at Winfield when he was 16. This video was taken about two weeks ago, when they were opening for Audie Blaylock and Redline ... thought you might enjoy listening ...

That was smokin'! Those guys are hot and can pick with the best of 'em.

Pass along my regards to them the next time you jam with them.

That's really great, must be fantastic to play with those guys and gal. And 17 years old, that's pretty amazing. The singing is also really nice - nice lead and great harmonies!

I will pass along that message ... I had hoped to jam with three of them tonight, but I think it's going to be too cool for my old bones ...
