All I can say is because I like it. I like guitar in general. Both electric and acoustic. But acoustic has always been my fav. No particular song caused it. Many may have contributed.

Because I have 2 kids under age 3 and plugging in an electric cuts into the 47 seconds I have to play the guitar each day

Always loved music, stumbled into guitar playing friends, been hooked into it since (1994).
Acoustic and electric for me. Renewing interest into electric after I primarily played acoustic for past decade.
Once I am playing all else fades away - best therapy ever.

Funny, my playing seems to elicit a similar reaction in people.

I grew up on older country music and rock and by the time I had a guitar my tastes had expanded to soul and blues and folk. Something so sweet and simple about playing an acoustic I just love it still have an electric and a decent amp for when I need to rock the house.

Default why acoustic?

Because I like the sound, lots. And rarely like the sound of electric guitars nearly so well.

And even if I liked the sound equally from each, there's the issue of needing extra equipment (buying, storing, schlepping around) and taking additional time and steps before I can begin to hear what I want.

I started out on acoustic and over the years have played acoustic, electric and bass. I now solo gig and the acoustic is simply more versatile and full sounding.

Perfect response.

I would add that it feels right in every sense. If I could find an electric rig that felt the same I'd buy it.

I enjoy playing/singing in my home more on the acoustic than on the electric.
