Default Can't find Tor-tis Pickguards

I'm looking for a mid-sized teardrop Tor-tis pick guard in Dark. I looks like LMI is the only distributor, but they have shown both Dark and Medium as "out of stock" for a few months. When I called on Friday, they indicated that they were in the process of manufacturing these "in-house."

Does anyone know if anyone else is/was manufacturing or distributing the Tor-tis guards and where I might be able to find what I'm looking for?

Thanks.

Out of curiosity, I also understand that Greven stopped making pick guards. Did the Greven Tor-tis pick guard "recipe" become the Tor-tis pick guards that LIM was distributing, and now the same recipe that LMI is bringing in-house?

Check with Maury's music maybe? I know they carry them. Lmii isn't the only distributor

Search for greven pickguards on google. There's quite a few dealers

I've checked all the other usual sources. Maury's had them on "clearance" a while back and what I found online indicated that they were not continuing to carry them. 30's and 50's color styles can be found, but it seems the Mediums and Darks aren't out there. I also can't find any info on the manufacturer. It's not Greven anymore, and there was a post suggesting that for a while it was two ladies who made up "Turtleworks" and we're turning them out on their own. The fact that LMI says they're bringing production "in house" suggests that supply is an issue.

If anyone has a spare mid-size in dark, I'd be interested.

The Guitar Gallery (the one in Nashville, TN) should have what you're looking for. Ask for Robin. No connection, but I've purchased several Greven Tortis pick guards from her.

Yes, the Tor-tis line was developed by John Greven.

Sometimes they are listed on ebay.

I understand that you called them, but uthiers Mercantile stills shows they carry Greven pickguards.

I find the genuine Greven Tor-Tis guards to be very pretty, but they seem excessively thick to me. I prefer the thinner StewMac Tortiloid or the Terrapin Guitars ones.

I second this. I use tortoloid material to make my own guards. It looks great and is easy to cut.

I was looking for a specific size and color recently, and First Quality Music had what I wanted. I did notice however, they didn't have some of the models LMII did have. Good luck.
