I was an extra in the Bollywood movie Kabhie Kabhie (1976). It was quite common for Indian films at the time to use transient white people as extras. And for us transient white people it was good money.
I did two scenes on the street in Bombay.

I was in The Graduate among the crowd standing outside the Whiskey when Dustin Hoffman and Katherin Ross ran up to the corner. At the time I had no idea who they were or the name of the movie. We signed a release and waver and were told by "clipboard guy" not to screw around or we'd be dealt with. Months late I'm sitting in a theater watching the movie and think to myself...wait I'm in this scene!
My home was featured on a TV reality show Armondo To The Rescue. I think it aired on the Bravo or A&E network.

I was driving a whale watch excursion boat last year that was filmed for an IMAX feature about the Pacific Northwest/Washington State. They chartered the boat, filled it with people who were told to point and act excited. Repeated close passes overhead, then they saw the Lime Kiln Lighthouse and asked if I could take the boat directly towards that... yep, to a point. Several more close passes, then "Got it!" on the radio.
I asked the assistant director who was on the boat, "What about the whales?" "Oh, we'll add those in later with CGI." I think it is playing at the Seattle waterfront - I haven't seen it. |

Is was working for Heil body Corp in Woodbridge NJ late 60s, went in for my 4-12pm shift and they were filming a scene with George Segal. Putting his makeup on in my buddies (forman's) chair. I asked the director if they needed a short fat guy he said no they had all the short fat guys they needed. He said it also starred Eva Marie Saint but she wasn't in the scene and was in NY. He said it was about corporate espionage. I have yet to be able to find it, I don't think it was ever released.
Also I drive by the blue house occasionally from the movie Hearts in Atlantis with Anthony Hopkins.

Not a movie but I use to do some extra work on the tv show Petrocelli that starred Barry Newman. It was shot in Tucson and I was living there at the time, fresh out of college and looking for interesting things to do. I was one of the people who sat in the courtroom looking very intent on the proceedings. An interesting tidbit was that the guy who played the judge had been an insurance salesman and other than high school drama class had never acted before but decided to try out and got the part. He had the perfect demeanor for a judge and did a good job of playing the role.

In the early 50s as a kid in Newhall CA., I was in some crowd scenes on a movie called "Suddenly". Frank Sinatra was an assassin, trying to shoot the President. Sterling Hayden was the small town sheriff, who shot him at the movie's end...
In the mid 70s, I was an extra in the low budget action number, "Vigilante Force. I was cast as a hold up man. We robbed a bank, took a woman hostage, and killed two cops. I tried to shoot Jan Michael Vincent from the getaway car, but only hit some innocent bystander instead. 8>( It was an exciting, and fun time! Later in the film, I had a scene with Kris Kristofferson, where I was an armored car guard, and was in several crowd scenes... I had no lines, but did lots of serious emoting over those several days on the set.... I should have gotten an Oscar for my performances. HawHawHaw! Don |

Several years ago, I was out at P.I.R. ,(Phoenix International Raceway) when they were filming scenes for Days Of Thunder, with Tom Cruise.
Just two words to describe the action....BOAR RING! Scenes in the movie that show racing at break neck speed, the cars are probably doing maybe 30 MPR at tops, if that. prob more like 20. They had 2 race cars that Cruise drove, one looking new, and one already all smashed up to film the crash scenes. |

Does "caught on a surveillance tape" count?

We met Jim Carrey
...during the filming of Me, Myself and Irene when we lived in Vermont. He was quite cordial.
My wife and I were featured in one of those Austin City Limits applause shots between songs when we went to see Johnny Cash and family. My mom and dad and I were featured in background shots when I took them to see Chet Atkins' Austin City Limits. My dad actually helped write a song with the great Tom Lehrer. They were filming A GATHERING OF EAGLES with Rock Hudson at Beale AFB, where I lived as a kid. My dad was assigned to Tom Lehrer to give him a taste of what Base life was like, and they ended up writing a song that was cut from the movie. I still remember a verse of it, which is pretty funny actually. "A fighter pilot is known by the way he makes his pass. A bomber pilot is known by the rank he does amass. But a tanker pilot's unique by the way he passes gas..." My dad flew KC 135s, which of course, were the 'flying gas stations' of that era.
