Default the airlines liked my suitcase.

Not sure if this belongs here but it's a box that
holds wires for acoustic amplification so here it will be posted.
For years i have been toting all my cables and mics in an
antique suitcase. i have bought many over the years.
Because they look cool. so i need a new one
and am looking for maybe a more modern
style. maybe a rolling suitcase. i was wondering
what everyone here uses to hold all the gig wires, cables and
essentials .. post pics if you want. thx

Not a suitcase and not rolling but I use a boot bag from Duluth Pack. I've had it for years. I've tried a few different solutions but I always come back to this:

It has enough room for a couple of mics, my harmonica case, harp holder and my cables. My favorite part is the zippered boot compartment. The size is perfect to hold a Pelican style case for my Bose T1 digital mixer.

Hi, Matt! You are from my hometown! I grew up just outside of town near Bearden.

I'm doing mostly sessions these days and don't need a flypack. All the weight of my road cases gets tiring so I eventually resorted to...

...an Olive Garden bag. If I tear it up I have an excuse for another round of Chicken Parm. That last one there lasted about five years (and died about five years ago) before I figured out that an Olive Garden bag was relatively expensive when you add in the meals. I eventually picked up one of those fabric grocery shopping bags. Works fine.

This is a timely topic. I was on the net investigating options for the very same thing. I have a Husky tool Case/bag that holds a lot of stuff. It has a shoulder strap and handles. It has one large compartment that is divided in two. It also has two small accessory compartments on the sides where I keep small things like picks and batteries and such. I am always carrying more than what I need so I was thinking of getting something smaller. I look forward to seeing what people post.

Bought this for my mixer but I carry all my cables and other accessories in it too.
They come in various sizes, very well built.

Search on Amazon..
There are so many nice rolling cases and duffel bags on the market.
Depends on what size you need...

This is very similar to the one that I use.

Milk crate! And in a pinch, it makes a good amp/mixer stand, too!

A small rolling soft case when it's for my group. If it's just me, a soft bag, shoulder carry. I haven't yet embraced the new millennium practice of using a backpack, but for a few wires and a mic it's starting to make sense.

i think i may go with something like this. it has pouches
for mics and smaller items and larger area for the
wires. plus everything stays put when
you roll it. some you have to tip up and everything
shifts in the bag.

(The Prodigal Daughter stealeth home...or at least drops by for a bit).

These days, when I have to fly to a gig or conference, I don't bring a lot of gear. Voyage-Air in the overheads or (if it's a high-profile show) M-36 checked in its Calton in the hold. Almost never have to plug in at a conference, festival or showcase, but if I do there's always a house cable or instrument mic. I'll bring a spare cable with the Voyage-Air, in the computer compartment. No such room in the Calton case.

But when I drive, I carry cables, mics, DI, preamp, CDs, folding stand, whatever, in whatever freebie conference tote (always a zippered one) I can find--and I'm amassed quite a few. I keep a rudimentary "emergency gig kit" in my car: one such tote with the aforementioned stuff, a mic stand and an A-frame guitar stand; plus (unless I know I'm going somewhere with its own P.A.) a Roland AC-33 and a spare pack of AA batteries in case there's nowhere to plug in.

I used to use these tweed bags from Musician's Friend with all manner of pockets, but one got stolen out of my garage, and the other always seems to get "cannibalized" of some of its contents depending on what I need to bring with me in my (or my singing partner's) car. (Helps that we both have Subarus--he a Forester, me an Outback).

Old electronics tool bags - in this case, a Platt Master Tech - are useful for carrying cables and small parts in an organized fashion.

I’ve also got an LM Engineering road briefcase that can double as a pedalboard - it holds a Raven, a couple of cables, power supplies and batteries, and the occasional mini volume pedal or other pedal du jour and a clip-on light inside the lid so I can see in the dark. It’s tough as nails.

I carry my cables, preamp/DIs, and mics in an Indiana Jones-style satchel.
