Default Baranik JX Adirondack/Brazilian

Hi all - up for sale is my beautiful Baranik JX Adirondack. This is a extraordinary example of Mike’s work and I hate to let it go but I have a few custom builds coming up and need to move a few guitars. I have owned the guitar since 2011 and am the second owner. I have played this side by side with some newer builds and it really is amazing how consistently good of a builder Mike is, the guitar really sounds stunning. I mostly play it in altered tunings but it sounds great in standard as well and can handle just about anything you through at it. The Adirondack top really makes for a sweet sound with lots of head room that you can throw all sorts of stuff at.

This guitar has some extra touches with the spalted maple binding, McIntyre Pickup, cutaway, soundhole and stunning perfectly quartered Brazilian Rosewood. His asymmetrical design really makes this guitar very comfortable to hold for a larger guitar.

The condition of the guitar is almost perfect as Mike recently took the guitar in for a complete refinish. He had a bad batch of finish when he first built this guitar and being the great guy Mike is, he refinished it (2015) similar to how he does it now with a much thinner finish that make the guitar even more responsive. The guitar has been babied and has been kept in my humidity controlled room in it’s case.

Pickup: McIntyre Feather (can be easily removed).

Smile Baranik JX

I have played this guitar on more than one occasion, and it is as good as any Baranik I have played. The woods on this one are especially noteworthy. The figured Brazilian rosewood back and silky Adirondack top are just spectacular.

The build quality, playability and sound of this guitar are all first rate. It has clarity, balance, dynamics, deep tight bass, and ringing trebles to die for. It also has a way of generating great overtones without being muddy. I love the modern sound that Mike is able to achieve, which is why I own two of his guitars.

Matt is also a great guy to work with. I sold him my 2005 JX before he found this one. Matt is extremely trustworthy and reliable and I give him my highest recommendation.

Someone is going to be very happy with this one!

I can't believe there is not more interest in this guitar. This is a phenomenal sounding and playing guitar with top notch woods at a reasonable price.

My Baranik CX (serial# 136) was made at the same time in 2008 as this JX (serial# 135). My CX oozes tone and dynamics and is probably my favorite sounding guitar of all I own. There is just something special about Mike's guitars of this era. He was in full stride then, and the guitars have had time to fully open up.

Probably has something to do with not accepting guitar currency...
That is a beautiful guitar !! Selling a high end guitar for cash is about as rare as finding BigFoot these days...
