Default New Review Up: Leslie G37 Guitar Rotary Combo

This one has been a long time in coming! After sorting out an infant mortality and shipping damage, I can finally offer a review of the Leslie G37 Guitar Rotary Combo Amp. You can follow my tale of guitar "sturm und drang" and ultimate triumph in tracking down this beast, over HERE . Are you into rotary amp swirl? This is the page for you!

well, i think it is super cool. i love the sound of the leslie cabs and not just by keyboard players, as you mentioned, guitarists used them quite often also. just to add, i'm sure lowell george used leslies on some of his songs as i believe, jesse ed davis did also.

i have a leslie 110 that is a huge thick wood cabinet but contains only the lower speaker with no horn on the top and no built-in amp. it is probably from the early to mid 50s. it still sounds great running thru any of my amps, and, i've add a sewing machine pedal to vary the speed.

i also have a strymon mobius pedal that has a very useful leslie sound and it weighs less than a pound. it can give me different speeds for the top horn and the bottom speaker. running thru two amps spread apart gives me a great doppler sound.

let us know when you have a soundclip up.

play music!

Great review Bob. I would love one but at my age I would need roadies to move it! I do love the rotary sound. -- Darwin
