Default Progress, some good feedback.

I posted here in July last year that after sitting at home and learning to play a little from books and the internet I was encouraged to play at a local open mic night.I had been to watch for a few months and introduced myself to the people there.
It's held in a local pub and the crowd varies from 10 to 20 on a cold wet night to 60 to 70 when full. I,ve played three songs or tunes on most Sunday evenings since July. Firstly I got up on my own as I did not know the other players and I did not have the confidence in my own playing to ask if anyone would play along and accompany me.
Last night it was very cold and there were only a few people in the pub, If I was going to fall flat I would rather do it in front of only a few people, when it was my turn to get up I asked for a second guitar, a bass player and cajon player. I played as part of a group for the first time and really enjoyed the experience. I have to say the other players are very experienced and have played in bands since the 1970s. They followed my 3 and 4 chord Dylan songs very easily. I was told that I held my own and played well, that my confidence and ability had come on in leaps and bounds over the last 6 months. When I sat down other players also came across and said how well I had done and how well I was progressing.
It was great to get such positive feedback and I'm starting to feel that my target/ ambition to be able to get up and for me to join in when some one asks for backing is not completely beyond me.

I forgot to add one on the best things for me personally was that I could actually hear the other instruments. Normally I am concentrating on what I am trying to play I cant see or hear anything else including the audience

That is awesome. Anytime hard work pays off it is very rewarding. I can’t even imagine playing to an audience but I assume it’s really that first time that is the tough one. Congrats!
