Default New custom steel string w/ redwood top

Crystal Forest Steel String Guitar #0116-003

This custom build guitar features a California Redwood top salvaged from 1000+ northern California forest stump. Back and sides are AAA Indian Rosewood. Martin pre-war style forward shifted scalloped X-bracing. The fretboard is ebony with a "snowflake" M.O.P. inlay. The peghead has an ebony veneer with a Crystal Forest logo of M.O.P. The neck is mahogany. This guitar has a standard Martin 25.4" scale length with a 1 11/16" width at the nut. The fingerboard has a 16" radius. The saddle and nut are Tusq, radiused and compensated. More specs below.

Includes new Silver Creek case. 48 hour approval period for evaluation. Would be excellent guitar for finger picker. Nice bright tone between sitka and cedar.

Specs are as follow:
  • California "old growth" redwood top
  • AAA Indian rosewood back and side
  • mahogany neck
  • 1 11/16" Tusq nut
  • Tusq compensated saddle
  • ebony fretboard with Snowflake inlays
  • bloodwood bindings with white+black stripe
  • zipflex paua purfling on top
  • 3mm blue green abalone sound hole ring + wht/blk/white outer ring
  • Martin pre-war style forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing
  • Standard Martin 25.4" scale length
  • JJB Prestige 330 (3-piezo) pickup under bridge plate with endpin jack
  • Grover 18:1 Sta-tite tuners

Is there some finish checking going on on the top side of the bridge closest to the bass strings? Or is it dust perhaps?

Below is a simple sound clip sample. Redwood is most commonly considered in the middle between cedar and spruce. Very good tonewood for fingerpicking style, classical, solo guitar playing.
