Default Am I the only one who LOVES changing strings??

I see all the posts about hating changing guitar strings, but I just finished changing the strings on my D41 and I enjoy it, every time! I always try to do it better and cleaner, every change and love the sound of new strings! Am I the only one??

I not only enjoy it but typically get my friends and band members to let me change their strings, do setups if necessary, etc. It's fun to me.

I enjoy trying different strings so I’ve come to enjoy the process too.

Don’t like doing it and don’t like the sound of new strings, which means I leave them on way too long…..the upside being it’s almost like getting a new guitar when I finally get around to it

I’ve done it a million times at this point, so I don’t hate it nor love it. It’s part of the process I guess. But new strings sound great.

Yep, love it.
Wipe down the fret board, clean the guitar, tune her up….. It’s a zen thing

Love is a strong word. So it doesn’t necessarily apply to me and string changes. But I don’t dread it. And actually enjoy riding new strings for the first few days until they calm down and give me the sweet tone I expect for a couple months. Since I keep myself to “just” two guitars and don’t gig, string changes aren’t a big deal. Gives me a welcome chance to inspect my guitars thoroughly and then enjoy a few zingy days with new strings.

I enjoy spending time with my instruments - playing, cleaning as needed, installing pickups, changing tuning machines or buttons as desired, and changing strings.

I enjoy the process of making an instrument, vehicle, tool, work/living space or anything else more useable and customized for me.

I'm a hardcore DIYer when it comes to working on vehicles, in my garden, remodeling, appliance repair/replacement and musical instruments (to a point - I do simple jobs and setups, nothing that involves real luthiery skills).

My instruments are 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 stringed. Some are slotheads. Most have floating bridges so strings must be changed one course at a time.

It's enjoyable to me.

I like having done it, but not the process of doing it.

I don't enjoy it. I always feel like I'm going to be poked in the eye somehow by a string, even though I wear glasses. So I very rarely change strings. Though right now I have two guitars who really need new strings at the moment.

I really look forward to changing strings as a way to reconnect with the guitar as a beautiful, finely made tool for making music, and an opportunity to make sure it's in tip-top condition. When I'm done, I love the sound of the new strings and hearing the guitar at its best.

Yes, maybe, who knows
I like new strings but changing them not so much .
If I could sprinkle some string fairy dust and have them change I would not hesitate

Some years ago, I loved to change strings and I'd do it after my hands were tired of playing. So, I was able to have more quality time with my guitar.

I am so used to changing strings and cleaning guitars, its just something that I do. Like cleaning guns after going to the range or cleaning up the kitchen if I cook. Changing strings is so fast and easy that its hardly worth complaining about.

I do enjoy the process but have a hard time finding time to get it done between work and gigs. It only takes about 15 minutes to change strings on one guitar and get them stretched and stabilized, but sometimes those 15 minutes are hard to find. Especially when I usually have to change strings on at least 2 guitars every week.
