Wasn't a good night with both the Pens and Bruins losing. Happy for Fleury that he beat the Pens though. I'm sure that means a lot to him.

The way this season is unfolding I would imagine Fleury's pretty happy to not be a Penguin

Pens are in trouble. Vegas looks pretty good. Very impressive expansion team!

Vegas has looked good all season and they've done it with, what, 4 goaltenders? It'll be interesting to see how they make out down the stretch or if they make the playoffs. New team with new players I wonder if they can keep that chemistry going.

Outdoor game tonight in Ottawa against Montreal. I'm in Chicago this week-end so I don't think I'll catch it here. Shame.

Tom - did you watch the outdoor Senators/Canadiens game? Big news was Senator's owner Larry Melnyk talking about potentially moving the team.

A very depressing thing happened last night as the Pens lost to the Avalanche 4-2 in Colorado. Sidney Crosby played the entire game and failed to attempt a single shot on goal. There is some speculation that it may be the first time in Sid's career that this has happened. Ugh!

Well I can only hope this is an indication that my Pens have finally hit bottom, and can start to rally. They have the worst goal differential of any team in the Metro Division, and if Carolina and Philly should win the games they have in-hand the Pens would be in last place in that division! Ouch! They're running out of time.

I like Crosby and the Pens, but being semi-local, I get all the Avalanche games on TV, so they're sort of my home team, even though I'm in a different state. I kind of like Chicago, too, for some reason....

The back to back Cup hangover may be a real thing.

Let's hope the few days at Christmas break does the Pens some good.

The Bruins racked up 7 goals last night.

Glad to hear the Bruins are doing well! I don't think the Pens have scored 7 goals in the past week.

In other news, Pens GM Jim Rutherford has made a couple of minor deals today, perhaps a prelude to something bigger to shake up the team?

Are the Pens still looking for a good backup goalie?

Well, I think the Pens are very happy with Tristan Jarry, but Jim Rutherford (being an ex-goalie himself) has always prioritized depth at the position. He acquired a goalie, Michael Leighton, from the Coyotes today. Leighton, a journeyman minor leaguer, may be someone they can use to let Jarry get more games played at the AHL level as long as Murray is healthy.

From what I've heard Jim Rutherford is actively looking to acquire a 3rd line center and a top 9 left winger for the team. His acquisition today of both defenseman Jamie Oleksiak from Dallas and Leighton seems to address the expressed need that he had for more organizational depth at those positions, but not much more than that.

Bruins win again. They're 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Not too shabby.

I'm gonna have to start following the Bruins more closely. Would be nice to watch a team that's playing competitive hockey for a change.

The Pens will turn things around and make the playoffs. Not sure when they'll turn things around but they will.

I was scoreboard watching last night thinking the Pens were going to lose. Then a goal, then another, and a shootout win. Did the Blue Jackets blow this game or did the Pens dominate late?

Bruins win again.
