Kustom Sienna 30 does it for me.

How is it for vocals? So many acoustic amps I've tried are great for guitar, but not so great for my voice.

No idea....If you heard me sing, you'd run far, far away. So I have never tried it.

If you just want an amp the AER Compact 60 is excellent for vocals.

I find if I dial in a good sound at home, I can take it out and just crank the master volume and be very close to what I want. The AG 300 is a repurposed bass amp. Carvin just took out the bass pre amp and added the acoustic front end, so it can handle bass at moderately loud volumes. I've found over the years that having a bunch of power solidifies the sound even at low volumes.

Overkill for you? Perhaps, but better too much than too little. ...snip...
+1 on Carvin. The AG200 is under $500, and is a great amp. I can't imagine ever needing anything more. By the way, there is certainly NO lack of bass with the 200. When I told Carvin I did mostly solo singer/songwriter stuff they recommend the 200 over the 300, and I'm very glad I listened to their advice. (no financial interest on my part)

Default Update on EX

After playing around with the EX for really the first time , im very disappointed . The smaller Street cube is actually louder ?? I dont know if I got a bad one , ....I just sold a Marshall as50D and this thing is no where near 50 watts , much less 5 watts ....It just has no power, driving it with a Sansamp PARA driver DI ...Has to be almost cranked all the way up to hear anything ? And that's running on AC Power . I dont think i've overlooked anything ? Seems to work good on Vocals driving with a BOSS VE5 , but ACOUSTIC is terrible ..CAPITAL T

The Carvin AG100, AG200 and AG300 domonate this thread for many reasons. They are al 3 channel acoustic amplifiers that have true 48 volt phantom power and have excellent performance with both vocals and acoustic electric instruments. All 3 models also do great with bass guitars. Ric

Adding to the pile-on, I just bought a Carvin AG200. I needed the phantom power feature for the condenser mic I'm using with my nylon stringed classical. This is the first time I've gotten a real acoustic sound from an amplifier. Couldn't be happier with the choice and as already stated it was under $500. To be specific, $489 shipped.

I would have paid extra for the third channel to be the same as the other two on my AG 300. Because of my multi instrument needs and distaste for plugging and unplugging, I need either a two channel FireEye twin or a small mixer. I need to have acoustic, uke, mic, and bass all at once. I think I can use my Tech 21 Bass Driver into the third channel, but that still leaves me short one input, so a Headway or a RedEye Twin is in my future.

Yes, the 48 v phantom power is great, as is the USB output that will power a necessary light to view the small knobs in the dark. I've used the 20db boost switch too, and would use the HiZ switch if I wasn't married to my FireEye.

It is certainly a well thought out piece of gear, more than enough features if you just use an acoustic and a mic.

I have a Genz Benz Shenandoah 85 I scored off of craigslist. It's similar to the 100. Very good amp, I'm not a singer but I did loan it to a country music player singer and it seemed to work just fine. He plays a Taylor 2XX.
