My best,

Kirk Sand Steel String cutaway, Brazilian/Engleman with a LR Baggs Lyric,
to a small pedalboard with a Baggs Venue, to a Baggs Session DI, to a LR Baggs acoustic Reference Amp.

Very natural acoustic sound, no feedback issues even at fairly high volume.

Second best is my Tim Laughlin OM Brazilian/European spruce, Baggs Lyric,
through the same setup.

'82 Ovation Custom Balladeer - factory UST/single volume knob
Cable - Right angle/straight, 10'/15'/20' depending on venue
'87 Peavey Bandit 65 (w/replacement Scorpion Plus speaker) - low-gain input, all EQ @ 12:00, bright/mid-boost off, reverb @ 3

Just guitar-cable-amp, and low-buck to boot: most "acoustic" sounding rig I ever owned, enough power for almost any gig, and the Saturation (OD) control in channel 2 could be independently defeated, leaving a second clean channel with independent gain/volume for fingerstyle/lead work - served me well for 15 years until I stupidly sold the amp...

Sometimes less really is more...

Well, it's not like I have dozens of choices.

Guitar and pickup: Santa Cruz OO Skye with kk minis. For classical I use a Rode M3 condenser mic. Vocals is Sennheiser 935. Both excellent affordable miss.

Amps: Larger venues: Bose L1S going through the T1 Tonematch preamp. Crystal clear and loud enough for a couple hundred people outside. Easy to set up. L1S is the midsize version. The compact Bose didn't have enough oomph. The large L1 was too heavy for me, but definitely louder. Still haven't mastered the Tonematch preamp, but I like the sound that I get.
Smaller venue: Fishman Loudbox mini...very fine for a small crowd. Have never run vocals and guitar through it, just guitar. Will try one of these days.

Didn't know about Schertle when I bought the Bose. Might have changed my mind, but the Bose is pretty darn good, and easy to carry and setup. No regrets. It's possible to have Amplifyer Acquistion Syndrome (AAS) but I have enough gear, just need to learn to play better and build a bigger repetoire.

Hey All,

I just wanted to thank you all for this thread.

I have been wanting an acoustic amp and I am trying to be very discerning and seeing what others are using is a real help.

Now that said the Bud is the one that is most interesting to me at the moment but there are none near me at the moment. At least there are others I need to try.

Guitar- Gibson-Epiphone PR7ERS (bird's eye maple solid TB&S) with factory Epiphone V electronics through a Peavey e-coustic 112.

For vocals I'll use a Shure SM57, and an Alesis Quadroverb. Guitar goes through a Behringer Chorus and Cutec Compressor.

Fairly low budget setup, but sounds pretty darn good. I'm sure it sounds better than I can play and sing...

This, when it comes to acoustic guitars.

As for electrics, it's mostly Fender amps for me.

I recently bought a Baggs Para DI to use with my Gibson AJ which has a K&K mini pickup. I've tried this guitar/pickup through several preamps but nothing works like the Baggs. Now I'm planning to put K&K's in more guitars and scrap the Fishman Matrix pickups I have in nearly a dozen guitars.

The Baggs Para DI is mounted to a Pedaltrain Mini board with the following in the efx loop:

Ernie Ball low z volume pedal
Boss RV6 reverb
Boss CS3 chorus.

Gear I own that will be used as trade bait in the near future:

Fender Acoutasonic Jr amps (2). Good sounding amps but way under used.

Radial Tone Bone PZ Pre preamp. Feature laden preamp. I had high hopes but doesn't pair well with K&K.

Boss flanger. Muddie's up the sound too much. Probably give it to my bass player.

Ultrasound PDI preamp. I'll probably keep this as it works well with bass or even electric guitar into a PA.

Radial J48 direct box. Keeping this to use with keyboard into PA.

K&K XLR preamp. Traded this for the Baggs. You would think this would be the perfect preamp for the mini. You would be wrong. Noisy and limited tone shaping.

H and D TOM-R . Trance Amulet M, AER 60 , XLR into the board.
Lowden O25c Trance , AER.

Great tone, no feedback issues even playing with a bass player at volume.

We're so lucky to have such great gear available now.

Martin CEO-7 with K&K > TC Helicon Play Acoustic with additional footswitch > Yamaha DBR10 powered speaker. Only 3 cables to hook up for a gig. Ten minutes max load in, and everything is lightweight.

Vocals Sennheiser e935.
I gave up the heavier QSC K10 for the ease of the Yamaha speaker.

The most used:

Eastman E6OM > JJB Prestige 330 > Behringer V-tone > either Roland Cube Street EX or Sampson 308I

The most fun:

Rogue Rocketeer in Open G or G&L Ascari GT90 > (Cranked) Laney Cub 10

&

Hohner Special 20 > JT30 mic > Fender Champ reissue
