zabdart: sort of a smart-alec comment. And, I DO HAVE a Thinline Tele, thank you.

Funny how that always seems to happen? So unnecessary?

Other kids went to bed with a teddy bear when they were tykes. I had a Bugs Bunny doll. Does that explain things for you?

Sure, but it was a tough install and I am hesitant to undo it. I can make it work for me as is. Drilling the end pin is nothing . . . . taking care to get transducers in just the right spot using crazy glue was a bit tense.

For audiences that are going to listen or for low volume gigs, K&K is what you want. For rowdy bars and/or band situations you might want a UST. With the UST you sacrifice acoustic tone but will have less trouble with low end feedback. You need a pre-amp with either, but with the K&K it will be outboard; might also be outboard with a UST depending on which you choose.
Totally agree with this

I get that. I let my tech do that kind of precise work. I've done one install and the endpin drilling was the worst using a hand auger. The passive SBT (McIntyre Feather GF-30) was a relatively simple install. K&K mini or an active P/U will go to a professional? And while I'm not a fan of UST's for the most part, the Baggs dual source Anthem really does work well.

I like K&K and the Baggs Anthem both. Use them both. To my ears you can gt a good sound with the Anthem in ANY guitar...with the K&K....if you don't like the acoustic sound of your guitar...then you may not like the plugged sound with the K&K...with either one..you'll probably need a pre-amp...but the are both good. I do like the fact that the K&K doesn't have to go under the saddle. I don't think my ears can hear an acoustic different...but just knowing something is there..and also having to sand down the bottom of the saddle..I hate that!!!...if you install the K&K...be sure to cover your guitar top...DON'T GET SUPER GLUE ON THE TOP....(don't ask me how I know)

No. My HD-28 came with a factory-installed Fishman pickup.

Trance Audio Amulet M Dual Mono Acoustic Guitar System. Trance Audio Amulet systems are what Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Paul Simon and Michael Hedges use. The M Dual Mono system may seem expensive but it includes an audiophile-grade, onboard preamp. Installing a Trance system entails NO SUPERGLUE and is completely removable without damage to anything should you want to sell or trade your guitar. The straight system (pictured below) is $279 and is available from AGF sponsor Maury's Music.

I have a Baggs Lyric in my D-35, and a Baggs M-80 in my Pono DS-20. If the Lyric were to go bad, I'd replace it with a M-80. Sometimes I get a lot of feedback with the Lyric, but none with the M-80. The M-80 sounds fine in the Pono.

I feel like that would be a feedback nightmare for most people.

I use a 71 d-28s..12 fret slotted headstock.
It has the k+k pup..best acoustic sound
I have ever heard from a pup.if you get
A pre-amp.make sure it has the proper
Input impedance. 1 mohm ..I think.
I have tried a bunch of pups and the
Kandk is the best so far.no piezo quack.
