Default New Laurence Juber "Rhythm" Course on Truefire

I'm sorta hooked on Truefire courses. Their production quality is always excellent. The lessons themselves vary with the instructor. Some are a good fit, some are not. And sometimes when I come back to a course that I may have purchased in the past, I find that I have progressed enough to get something out of it.

Today I picked up Laurence Juber's "Guitaristics: Rhythm" course. I've been watching for just a few minutes and he has great insight into what could be a boring topic. LJ delves into the subtleties of rhythm and how it can drive a song forward. The lesson has great pacing and works with both acoustic and electric guitars.

Rhythm is one of those things that I take for granted (of course I can play rhythm!) but the truth be told, I'm not a great rhythm player. I suspect that this course will kick my playing up a notch.

I have bought a bunch of truefire courses this year. Bluegrass 1-2-3, Country 1-2-3, Uke for guitarists, Blues Harmonica are a few. Much like you i find their courses very well done

I have been real tempted by this one. I have been working for about the last year on rhythm playing. If I hadn't been so focused on my flatpicking essential books lately I probably would have bought this too. Keep me posted on what you think.

I've had my eye on that course too. Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow (if not then I'll almost certainly get it in two weeks).

I went about 1/3 through the course yesterday. It's paced very well. He doesn't dwell on strumming patterns, but covers them well enough. At the same time, LJ adds in observations about the patterns and how to add a little sparkle to them. He also switches back and forth from acoustiç to electric.

So far, a very well planned and produced course with great pacing.
