Nothing for me in 2018, so I will be living vicariously through all of you! Looks like a banner year...these will be fun to watch!

Remember his name is John Slow bod. I say that in humor, John is one of my favorite people in addition to being a great guitar builder. Have patience and try not to get uptight. It will be great when you get it and you will forget about the time spent waiting.

I am actually in no rush at all. It will be done when it’s done, it’s all good.

34 guitars listed so far. Looking back over the last 3-years, we usually see 50-60 guitars prospectively in posts like this. I suspect that there will be more than what is listed...

I think perhaps you've stumbled on an oft-overlooked, but nonetheless important, economic indicator.

Commissioned Guitar Index

I don’t think so Juston. I personally know of 8 or 10 other commissions that we might see not yet listed. People may be just a bit shy about sharing (at least prospectively). Most builders that I know have seen a slow but steady improvement in business since the 2008 collapse. The quote below is summarizing a survey of exhibitors of the Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase held last October (below). A very positive outcome...

Compared to the last 3-years (2015-2017), the macro US economic measures appear to be trending positively in terms of higher GDP, low unemployment, low inflation and higher consumer confidence indicators. Hopefully, our luthier friends will be able to partake in the benefit of a rising economic tide...

A Circa 12 fret 000 in Cocobolo/Adirondack. John’s hybridized bracing (a little taller I believe with more headroom for flat pick or finger picks) and solid headstock.

That is going to be one sweet, sweet guitar! His 000s are phenomenal and I love that taller bracing. Just beyond words. Truly.
