Is it just a reflection, or is there nothing in those inlay sections on the back, and the tail?

Doug, Wow! That looks great. The rosewood is pretty perfect. I'm looking forward to some pictures of the brass inlays.

I got to spend some time with the O from Santa Barbara too. Lots of sound from that little box Great choice.

Thanks Burton and I really like the way the ebony buttons you crafted for this guitar turned out. The oval shape comports well with the the lines and stylings of this guitar. And yes Zandit75, the previous pictures are all pre-inlay work.

So just to refresh your memory...here is the picture I posted earlier giving Joel some inspiration for his inlay.

and here are some pictures of the installed inlays that Joel produced. To my eye he nailed it, especially letting some of the natural brass show through the color!

Stay tuned...more to come

Default Michaud O-R

The Michaud O-R has been in my hands for one week now and has only been back in it's case one time (for a house cleaning). This is a really fun to play compact sized guitar with a lovely balanced tone and more volume and resonance than expected from an instrument this size.

It was a pleasure working with Joel on the specifications for this build to personalize it to my preferences while also maintaining his recognized aesthetic principles. I would like to commend Joel Michaud for his stellar workmanship and artistic vision in creating this guitar. Here are a few more pictures:

Thanks for following along!

My goodness Doug, I'm not sure how I missed this build but WOWOW this is a really nice guitar. Gorgeous appointments common almost exclusively to Joel. That Madi makes my mouth water.

Absolutely stunning. Congratulations!

Is that a "0" fret or just part of the decoration?

Steve, I believe the top maple purfling line on the fretboard is what you noticed that may have given the appearance of a zero fret.

That's a dream guitar right there Doug. If you are ever looking to sell it, you know who to find. That is if anyone can ever pry it out of your hands As pretty as it looks, Joel somehow makes it sound even better! Really wish I could play this one... Please post a sound clip of it!!

Doug,

Of all the rosewoods, I think Madi is my favourite. This set is really beautiful and a great example of the species.

Reading between the lines of your posts, it's easy to see how much you are enjoying this guitar, congratulations and good on Joel for being able to again produce another spectacular build. We are really seeing some amazing builds from all the luthiers here on the AGF, this is great to see.
