Smile Tab For Twilight

TBMan,

I was listening to your song, and just by ear started trying to pick out the chords you where using. I don't know the names of most of them, but is this tab in the ball park?

e========0==========0==========0===0=0=0=|=2=2=5=7 =5=2=0=0
b======3===3======3===3======3===3=3=5=3=|=3=3=7=7 =7=3=3=3
g====2======2===0=======0==0=======0=0=4=|=2=4=7=7 =7=2=0=0
d==0===============================0=0=5=|=0=0=0=0 =0=0=2=0
a=============3====================2=4=0=|======== =====3=2
e=========================3========3=5===|======== =======3

This is the first tab i ever wrote, so be gentle with me...

Let me know how you make out with it.
Today for the other new tune, Dont Ask , I worked out a short harmonic track to go with the beginning, but on the next to last harmonic I buzzed it. Also the whole recording had some poppin going on because I forgot to shut off my cable modem while recording it. I'm going to redo it and most of the tunes on my page to get a more uniform presentation now that I have the borrowed mic and Tascam.

Isn't tabbing fun? I'm not the best at it, but I always feel so proud of myself when I tab by ear and it turns out sounding (mostly) like the song I'm trying to learn! LOL.

Seriously guys, lemme sing somethin' on a track with ya, or write, or somethin'.

Default Scratch Track

I am going to make a sctratch track. It will just be the guitar rythum of the song. I will use a metronome to time it, and put it somewhere accessable.

We can use that to record our tracks. Just don't include it in any mixdown. It's only to keep the time and the mood.

Sharon, what is your favorite part of writing songs? Lyrics, melody or basic chord progressions? My singing is sorta like Johnny Cash with a bad cold mixed with a cat who just got its tail caught is a closing door. So you and Bob have to share that duty!

Lyrics are areally my forte(if you could call it that), though being a "Teenager(not for much longer!!)" I don't know if you'd like my writting! LOL. But, that's what I love.. And singing of course.

I enjoy the whole process though my writting skills far outshine my playing abilities(blame that on being a poet since I could spell..!).

My singing sucks. I just like doing it...

I am going to make a scratch track or click track (what ever the term for it is). What it will be is just the acoustic guitar rythum in time with a metronome. I will post it so we can all download it and use it to do our parts. What you'se will do is use it to record your tracks. You can listen to it through the head phones while you are playing or singing your tracks. Just don't set the scratch track to record.

TaylorGirl,
Please feel free to add anything you like to this. Don't be shy. You probably sing way way way better than me. I only do it because i like it, and don't care if anyone laughs at me or not. I even laugh at my own singing...

I will work on the track this week, and let you guys know when it is posted.

I love this stuff...

Sounds grea to me Bob! I've been itching to work on a new music project for awhile.. Guess this means the ol' M-Audio break out box needs to be dusted off, the recording computer(yes I have a seperate computer for it, I am the spawn of a world class geek) dusted off and the modem(or CD burner either one) put back in it! Got my work cut out for me!

I like your voice a lot, Bob! It has a very pleasing sound, and you appear to have fairly good technique.. ...I come from a background in Opera(yes, laugh, laugh, laugh will you can!) so.. sometimes that gets in the way of me singing like a "normal" person! HAHA!

Sounds great!!! I'll start working on the scratch track...

I guess my voice is not too bad. I never had a lesson, and have only been doing it for about 6 weeks.

Look forward to some new talent in our little group.
