Default Humidity question

How much will humidity affect my Fender? American standard Tele, natural. New.

essentially not at all. Large slabs of wood can crack if they get excessively dry, but a solid body is usually impervious to humidity worries.

An acoustic is extremely fragile and basically a thin shell so those movements cause more severe issues.

Probably not at all -- that's part of the point of a solid-body guitar.

The body should not be affected. If you have very low humidity in the winter, it could develop fret spout due to neck shrinkage. -- Darwin

And if that happens, just get it fixed. It only needs to be fixed once.

The neck relief will increase a bit in low humidity due to the truss rod design (metal on metal truss rods are stable in the face of changing humidity, but wood on metal will move with the wood).

As mentioned, it's not nearly as bad as acoustics. The only adverse affects I've ever noticed is the tuning going out but my guitars were never in extreme humidity conditions.

Thanks. I got it back in the summer and intonation was right on out the box but now it's not just right. It's pretty dry where it stays on stand. We have gas logs in the bedroom. I don't want to keep it in the case. Want to grab it and play. I'm lazy like that. Local place charges $45 to check and set neck and intonation, will it keep changing during the winter?
I changed strings a few weeks back used fender 10s my son said to put heavier strings on. What do y'all recommend?

Did you only notice the intonation was off after the string gauge change? That could be your issue.

I used the same strings that came on it, fender 10s. He said go larger.. I personally don't know. I'm used to acoustic mediums.
