Kinscherff Troubador L-00 adi top/insane figure mahogany
But for my new Franks 00, I would never sell this one. This has the sweetest lushest tone that you can't believe is coming from a Gibsonesque small body.
Does it all in aces. This was somebody's favorite guitar before me as well, and it has the play wear as a result though nothing at all major nor any damage. still looks really beautiful, just like a guitar that incited constant play vs. occasional and has opened up commensurately. Basic builds with Jamie Kinscherff start off $6700 from what I understand, and the upgrades would surely add 2K or so to that. Also has the the truss style bracing that gives it phenomenal responsiveness and sustain due to the lightening without sacrificing tone as the strength and stiffness stay the same with lower weight ratio. $2750 + shipping Last edited by cozycabin; 11-24-2016 at 08:44 AM. |

Wow- Beautiful guitar. Looks like the CozyCabin will be a little more spacious now with all the guitars up for sale!

Thanks, and true that on the creating space. I was down where I keep all the cases and guitars not out on hangers, was a long line of cases against the wall, but there were two more lines between me and that line. I decided it's time to take action

More pics please, such as the headstock from the frontal view, the rosette, etc. A little more on the tone as well such as how gibsonesque is the tone or is it ore Martinesque. These small bodies are confusing. Sometimes they are more Gibson with great clarity and projection and other awesome small bodies are more mellow and less pronounced. Thanks for any direction on any of this.

Absolutely lovely guitar, and very tempting, but I'd also like to have a few more specs. I couldn't find nut width, string spacing or neck shape on the Kinscherff website.
Also, when you talk about play wear, can you be a bit more specific? For example, how is the condition the frets? Much wear? Thanks. |

1.75 nut, 2.25 spacing, C or oval shaped neck, he used to work for Taylor in the early days if that give some insight to his neck shape, albeit a bit fuller than a Taylor standard neck. It's a really good carve, I find it very inviting and playable.
playwear= minor impressions, shallow dings, swirl, polishing / handling marks, see the pics they are hi res and show the guitar very well. The guitar is very sound and in good shape, I just want to make sure to the folks more concerned with getting a guitar that looks unplayed, that this one was. The frets have minor wear in open position, no where near needing a refret. I'd be happy to photo the frets in particular for someone who's serious about the guitar and very concerned with the present condition of the frets. I pick it up and play and it works great for me. thanks for the question. Someone had asked about tone, it's got Kinscherff's truss bracing that lightens X braces by eliminating weight through evenly spaced holes drilled through the brace that maintain the same strength (like a bridge) but losing the weight allowing longer sustain and a broader more saturated dynamic resulting in a very lively guitar. I wouldn't liken it to a normal Martin as was asked, perhaps further from a dry Gibson 00 than a Martin. It's lush in chording, focused and effective in melody, sweeter than it is dry, though it is exceptional mahogany so retains that clarity and clean reverb openness the mahogany provides. In summary it's a versatile guitar that pleases the ear, it's not a niche blues guitar, though fairs well there. It's not an L1 if that helps someone mentally comparing to Gibsons. Having owned a couple very nice CEO7's, it's in that camp, imagine if you had your pick of the first 100 of them. That's how I classify it in my mind I suppose. He went a little further than them in wood category and the truss bracing pays a handsome dividend. It gives it up more abundantly and probably more gracefully than the CEO's. I don't want to denegrate CEo's I have a lot of respect for the model. Hope that helps! thanks for the inquiries. |
