To a certain degree, it's going to depend on what you ultimately are trying to achieve by recording on your iPhone. My solitary goal when I record on my phone is to capture ideas - nothing more. For that purpose, the free/included voice recorder works 100% fine. I don't need multitracking, mixing, etc so it's great for me. If you tell us how you are hoping to use the tracks, maybe we can give you more info/ideas.

Hi es....

I meant to get back with you earlier. There is an app called iTalk which has a lite version (free) and a $1.99 version with more features. It's put out by
griffin.

Not only does it have selectable quality controls, files can be sent to Dropbox and used on other devices very easily. It's a notch above the free recorder as I recall (but it's been a while since I compared them head to head).

I've had iTalk for several years now.
